The boiler is composed of several parts like an insulated drum that houses water, an outlet for water, a steam outlet and a heat source. The water in the feed has to go through numerous important processes. Clarification is conducted using gravityal sedimentation. Filtration is a process that removes foreign matter. Demineralization is the removal of ions and minerals that could cause corrosion. Deaeration involves a procedure that takes oxygen and air. To remove any impurities, other internal processes are also performed prior to turning the steam into water.
Inadequate treatment could lead to damage, foaming and even deposition. This issue can be resolved with demineralization and filtration condensate polishing, and other methods.
It is crucial to ensure that steam boilers function effectively by treating the water that is used to make the boiler. If impurities enter the boiler water, it may cause a decrease in efficiency, high cost repairs and possibly permanent damage.
